Baptism
Christian baptism is the full immersion of a believer in water in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. It is a verbal and visible declaration both to the Church and the watching world of a believer's dedication to follow Jesus.
Baptism, often called “believer’s baptism” comes with only one requirement – you must be saved through faith in Jesus Christ. Have you believed, trusted, relied upon Jesus with all of your heart, and had that salvation experience? Have you followed through with baptism?
Calvary Baptist Church does not believe in any cleansing power of baptismal waters. The only cleansing power available is through salvation in Jesus Christ. Sin is not washed away by a baptismal service; only by accepting Jesus can your sins be removed and forgiven. We also believe that infants are not old enough to make a decision like this; therefore, we do not participate in infant baptism. We kindly ask that you allow your child the chance to consciously and purposefully make a personal decision to accept and trust Jesus as Savior and Lord so that it is their will, and not their family’s will being completed.
