Salvation

Why do I need salvation?

The Bible tells us how all of humanity became sinners in the fall of Adam and Eve in Genesis 3. Therefore, "all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23). Because all of us are sinners, we will die both physically and spiritually, "for the wages of sin is death" (Romans 6:23).

What must I do to be saved?

Truthfully, you cannot do anything to save yourself. Adam and Eve tried to cover up their sin against God with fig leaves (Genesis 3:7), and people have been trying to cover up their sins ever since. There is only one way you can be saved from your sins and the penalty of sin. You must accept "the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord" (Romans 6:23). In answer to a Philippian jailor's question, "Sirs, what must I do to be saved?" (Acts 16:30), the Apostle Paul gave us the only way anyone can be saved: "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household" (Acts 16:31)

When must I be saved?

You are never promised another day, another second. Our lives are here and gone, as a vapor (James 4:14). So you should be saved right now! "Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation" (2 Corinthians 6:2).
